I am all-round costume player who made own costume, prop, wig setting, and makeup, and the champion of 2018 KCC(Korea Championships of Cosplay). Q. When did you start costume play?
I started costume play when I was in high school, and I've been doing it for over 10 years. Before the pandemic, I used to be an offline cosplay event model, competition judge, and overseas guest. But after the pandemic, YouTube and Twitch became more important, so I mainly produce cosplay contents in collaboration with game companies.
Q. How did you feel when you invited for the member of UCB Organizing Committee?
UCB is probably the only remaining self-produced cosplay competition in Korea that I know. There aren't that many self-made cosplayers. It's a pity that there aren't many people who appreciate about self-made costumes compared to the time and effort required. I think that when self-produced cosplay competitions like UCB grow, there will be more places for self-produced cosplayers and opportunities to be recognized.
So I was very motivated when I was invited to the UCB Organizing Committee. I'm sure the staff would know, I'm sure they were tired because I gave a lot of opinions and suggestions. As UCB is doing well and the competition is booming, we hope that this competition will give more opportunities by improving the recognition of cosplayers and supporting sponsors as well as one-time prize money.
Q. What do you plan to focus on when evaluating costumes?
Cosplay basically imitates characters, so I think it's most important to implement the original as similar as possible. Especially in competitions, It's advantageous to implement characters that look difficult for anyone to see. For example, no matter how similar characters such as Nezuko and One Piece Loopy are, it is difficult to win the competition the easiness. As such, I think the selection of works is important and the implementation of the original is also important in this competition.

In this competition, I hope that the costume play producers will be able to get attention, and that they will be the main characters. I'm rooting for you!

Hello, UCB participants. This is MyBoo. I know better than anyone else that self-produced cosplay is difficult and costs a lot of money and time. Because of this, the number of participants in the competition is small.
